Ordinances, Resolutions and Charter Amendments (ORCAs)
Webmaster Note: The file offered below contains ORCAs from the present to 1983 and beyond. The file contains the Date, "Assigned" (normally either an "O" or "R" followed by a two-digit year and then a two-digit number such as O-16-02), and Subject. As introduced during Town Council meetings, the last part of the "Assigned" value contained a single digit such as O-16-2. Wherever possible, single digit numbers were changed to two digits to facilitate sorting. The file is full-text searchable and is sorted from most recent to oldest. ORCAs from 1983 have variable "Assigned" values or none at all, while ORCAs prior to 1983 are listed with a date of "<1983" because there was no uniformity in "Assigned" values or date.
An Ordinance is a law passed by a municipal government. A Resolution is an official expression of the opinion or will of a legislative body. A resolution is not a law.
