Moonlight Cruises 2019

The Town of Chesapeake Beach invites you to spend a summer evening cruising aboard “Miss Lizzy, docked at Rod 'N' Reel Marina. Shawn Gibson, Captain of the “Miss Lizzy,” is looking forward to a spectacular 2019 fishing and cruising season. Captain Shawn is a third-generation charter captain from Chesapeake Beach. He worked aboard his Grandfather's charter boat "WHY NOT" as a boy and spent his summers off from college, mating and running Night fishing trips when his "Pop" needed a break. "Miss Lizzy" is named after Shawn's Great Grandmother, who spent many years fishing from the very same docks where Miss Lizzy is located. Miss Lizzy is sixty-five feet long and carries 65 passengers.

We are offering three cruise dates for Summer 2019. The Town will be hosting cruises on Friday July 19 from 7:30 – 9:30pm, Saturday August 3 from 7:00 – 9:00pm (RESCHEDULED FROM JUNE 15), and Saturday August 24 from 7:00 – 9:00pm. The cost is $32 per person. Children are welcome; there are no age limits, but these cruises are more suited for adults. Guests can bring small coolers with adult beverages, drinks and snacks. All cruises leave from the Rod 'N' Reel Dock located at 4165 Mears Avenue, Chesapeake Beach MD 20732. See the adjacent map.

On the August 3rd cruise, we will be welcoming Dr. Ralph Eshelman, who is a specialist in maritime history of the Chesapeake Bay, War of 1812 in the Chesapeake, geology and paleontology. As we cruise he will fill us in on many interesting things about the Bay we all love.

On the July 19th cruise, we'll travel back in time for this retro-inspired 70's shindig. Bold patterns, muted colors, and chunky heels for the ladies. Bell bottoms, button downs, and mustaches for the gents. It's old is new again! Win a prize for best.  For an event flyer, click here

On the August 24th cruise, we'll feature subtle Rock and Pop as well as country music by Ross Crampton. Ross has been making music for over 30 years both as a band member and as a solo act.   For an event flyer, click here
